Lawmakers yesterday said the government is continuously working to keep the growth rate steady as the country could be a digitalized and a middle income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041. Bangladesh already has reached to low medium income country and the present government led by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to promote the country into a medium income one by 2021 and a developed by the stipulated period of 2041, reports BSS.
Taking part in the discussion on the thanksgiving motion on the President's address to the House, they hailed the present government of Sheikh Hasina for taking forward the country towards development.
As per the six-five year plan, country's growth rate was 7.4 per cent while the government is working continuously to promote the growth rate 8 per cent, said lawmaker Abul Kalam Azad of Jamalpur-1
Regarding the tremendous food production, Azad said in 2008-09, country's food production was 3crore 98 thousand tonnes and it was raised to 3 crore 86 lakh tonnes in 2016-17 fiscal year.
