The Palli Sanchay Bank (rural savings bank) is finally set to get off the ground, reports BSS.
“The activities of the bank would begin in two months,” Chairman of the bank Mihir Kanti Majumder told the news agency.
He said initially the bank would keep its services limited to the members of the “Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar [One House One Farm]” project, with opening branches in 485 upzilas.
There are 22 lakh members under 40,200 samity (association) of the Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar project, Majumder said pointing out that new samity could be formed to be a member after launching of the bank.
