JU chemistry dept honours five retired professors
SAVAR: The Chemistry Department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Sunday honored its five retired professors for their outstanding contribution for the department and university. The honoured retired teachers are - former JU Vice Chancellor Prof Jashim Uddin Ahmed, Prof Kazi Ali Azam, Prof Md Abul Hashem, Prof Mohammad Abdul Hai and Prof Md Rabiul Islam.
The retired professors were honored on behalf of the Chemistry department at a function held at the gallery room of the department. Speakers at the function discussed the contributions of the retired professors for the Chemistry department. The teachers were also praised for their outstanding contribution on research in the field of Chemistry.
Presided over by Chairman of the Department Prof Sheikh Md. Manzurul Karim, Prof Elias Mollah, ProfNurul Abser, Prof Mahbub Kabir and Vice President of Chemistry Student Union Saiful Islam, addressed the function, among others.
DU television, film and photography dept anniversary today
Television, Film and Photography Department of Dhaka University will celebrate its 6th founding anniversary on Tuesday with colorful programmes.
The department has arranged first film festival, career fair and cultural progremmes from Tuesday to Thursday on this occasion. The programmes will be held at R C Majumder Auditorium of the university's lecture theater building.
Four-day int’l workshop begins at BOU
A four-day international workshop on Blended Learning Courseware for Asian Region’ began at the seminar hall of Bangladesh Open University main campus yesterday, says a press release.
BOU Pro-vice-chancellor Prof Khondoker Mokaddem inaugurated the seminar as chairman of the workshop and said that blended education is now very effective of multi disciplinary approach for the learners of open and distance learning.
Treasurer Prof Ashfaque Hossain, Director PR Md Abul Kasem Shikder spoke in the inaugural session of the workshop, among others. Introduction to ICT and Learning design, OER policies of BOU, Social Media in Teaching, Designing in LMS, Software Clikers, Common Gadgets for Teachers, Technological innovations and practices will be discussed in the workshop. A total of 50 educationists from home and abroad participated in the workshop. On behalf of BL TEAE Project, the workshop is jointly organised by Bangladesh Open University and Dhaka University, funded by EU.
