Minor girl killed after ‘rape’ in Ctg

Chittagong police yesterday recovered the body of nine-year-old girl on Sunday night to a stair of a six-storey building under Akbar Shah area of the city.  Police also said that “The victim was killed after being raped”. She was identified as Fatema Akhter Mim, 9, daughter of Md Zamal, a class-two student of a local Madrasa. She was living in the Raja Kashem Colony with her family.

“Though the identity of the girl could not be known at the beginning, later her parents identified her. As per prima facie she was killed after rape,” said Alamgir Mahmud, officer-in-charge (OC) of Akbar Shah Police Station. “We have brought the caretaker of the building where the body was found in our custody for interrogation,” added the OC.

The distance of the building from the girl is about half kilometer said police. The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy.
