KUSHTIA: Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif yesterday said the country’s people do not want to see any corrupted government, led by BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, in power, reports BSS.
“People of the country will prove in the next general election that they do not want any corrupted government, led by Khaleda Zia,” he said while speaking the inaugural session of a seven-day regional small and medium enterprise (SME) product fair at collector’s point in Kushtia.
Meanwhile, Hanif said, top BNP leaders, including its senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, were convicted in courts for corruption. “The people, who think that people will elect the dishonest leaders of BNP in next polls, are insane,” he said.
Chaired by Kushtia deputy commissioner Zahir Rayhan, superintendent of police (SP) SM Mehedi Hasan, district parishad chairman Rabiul Islam, Sadar upazila executive officer Julia Shukaina were, among others, present on the occasion.
Around 75 stalls were set up at the fair.
