Joypurhat road accident kills 2

Two people, including a woman, were killed and three others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a pickup and battery-run autovan at Sorail of Kalai Upazila in Joypurhat yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Azizar Rahman, 41, a resident of municipality area of the upazila and Rowshon Ara, 44, wife of Abul Hossain of Dhapshikta village of the upazila. Abdul Latif Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Kalai Police Station, said a Joypurhat-bound pickup collided with a battery-run autovan on Sunday around 4pm, leaving five passengers of the autovan critically injured. Later, locals rescued them and took them to Kalai Upazila Hospital where Rowshon died around 6pm.
