Model mosques, Islamic centres to be set up

The government has undertaken a project to construct 560 model mosques and Islamic cultural centres across the country, aiming to develop and spread the Islamic values and culture, reports BSS. "The project has been approved by the government to set up a model mosque and a Islamic cultural centre at every upazila in the country," Religious Minister Principal Matiur Rahman told this in the Jatiya Sangsad, while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Ayen Uddin of Rajshahi-3 yesterday. He assured that the model mosque and Islamic cultural centre would be constructed under the project at Poba and Mohonpur.
