Rubber worth Tk 40 lakh seized

Members of Armed Police Battalion seized raw rubber worth Tk 40 lakh from Madhupur upazila of the district and arrested four people in this connection.  

The arrestees were identified as Siddik alias Bulu, 40, of Auronklola village,   Mubarak, 30, of Jalchatra village, Ibrahim, 32, of Kamarchala village of Madhupur upazila and Sujan Ali, 25, son of Farid Uddin of Dubchachiar village of Bogra district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Armed Police Battalion led by its Inspector (Operation and Intelligence) Md Kayum stopped a truck and seized the raw rubber.

Later, the law enforcers arrested three alleged smugglers and the driver of the truck.

The seized raw rubber, worth about Tk 40 lakh, might have been stolen from rubber garden in Madhupur, said he.

A case was filed with Madhupur Police Station in this connection.
