16 fishermen hurt in attack by robbers

A man was hit by bullets while 15 others fishermen were injured while a gang of robbers attacked them at a fishing trawler in the Meghna River near Monpura upazila on Tuesday night.
Police said the fishing trawler of Abdul Kader Majhi came under attack by a gang of robbers in the river Meghna while they were fishing.
The gang beat the fishermen and looted nets, fish and money from them. At one stage, the gang shot the fishermen, leaving fisherman Kader Majhi injured and left the scene.
The injured were admitted to Monpura hospital, but critically injured Kader was referred to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital.
OC of Charfassion police station Abul Bashar claimed that the incident was occurred in the boundary of Hatiya of Noakhali district.
