The feat of Tushar Imran and Abdur Razzak showed the dedication they have towards the game, a thing that the young players should follow, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said.
Tushar Imran and Razzak became the first Bangladeshi player to score 10,000 runs and claimed 500 wickets respectively in the first class cricket during the second round game of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
“They should get the honour for their unique achievement. The players are captivated by their milestone. Even before coming here, we talked about their achievement in the dressing room,” Mashrafe said.
“It’s not easy thing. To do that, they had to play 17/18 years with utmost dedication and maintain a certain skill and fitness level. Moreover they haven’t been in the national team for a long time and so it’s always tough to motivate themselves. But they could do because they have the love and respect towards the game. If you haven’t have the love and respect towards the game, you can’t do that.”
“I will urge the junior players to follow them, to follow how they motivate them, how they show their immense love and respect towards game.”
“What is our mentality is that we would follow the likes of Shakib, Tamim, Mashrafe. But I think the young players first should follow the likes of Tushar and Razzak. If they follow them and could score 4000/5000 first class runs, they could take the pressure of the international cricket.”
