5 held over Gazipur murder
Members of Rapid Action Battalion ((RAB) arrested five people, including prime accused Humayun, from Tongi area here on Thursday in a double murder case.
A team of RAB-1 arrested them from Ershadnagar in Tongi around 2 am. They also recovered some arms and drugs from the spot.
18 held with huge pirated CDs
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested 18 people along with 31 computers and huge pirated CDs from a shopping complex in  Chittagong city on Wednesday night. Tipped off, a team of RAB conducted the drive in Jalsha shopping complex around 7 pm and arrested them for making pirated CDs of newly released movies. The law enforcers also seized the computers and the pirated CDs.
Fugitive convict arrested
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-9) in a drive arrested a person from Sheikhghat area of the Sylhet on Wednesday night. The arrested was identified as Nurul Islam (48), son of late Mukit Miah.
RAB sources said acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the aforesaid area and arrested Nurul in connection with a cheque dishonour case.
Nurul was sentenced to six months of imprisonment over cheque dishonour case.
Donation to Officers’ Club
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited has provided a freezer van to Officers' Club, Dhaka for supplying healthy foods under bank's CSR activities.
Arastoo Khan, chairman of the bank, handed over the key of the freezer van to Md Ibrahim Hosein Khan, general secretary of the club on Tuesday, said a press release signed by its Assistant Vice President Nazrul Islam.
K M Mozammel Haque, vice chairman of the bank and Md Jahangir Alam, member secretary of the club, were present on the occasion.
