A daylong workshop on ‘Urbanising Deltas of the World Research and Innovation Programme’ will be held in the capital on January 22 (Monday), reports BSS.
The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO, Bangladesh Delta plan (BDP2100) and the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) will jointly organise the workshop at Ballroom of Hotel Four Points, Gulshan-2.
The main objective of the workshop is to link research and innovation in delta management and to identify opportunities for improving exchange, use and generation of knowledge directly towards implementation of challenges.
Water Resources Minister Anwar Hossain Manju will be present at the inaugural session of the workshop as the chief guest while State Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Bir-Protik, will be present as the guest of honour.
Ambassador of the Netherlands in Dhaka Leoni Margaretha Cuelenaere and Senior Secretary of the Water Resources Ministry Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan will be present as special guests.
