Yunnan railway network begins complete transformation

On January 7, both Dali Railway Station and Dali East Railway Station officially began a process of complete transformation. These moves indicate that that the Guangtong-Dali Railway has entered the home stretch. When this newly built line goes into operation, the two stations will become sub-centres of Yunnan province’s train network.

In the morning, nearly a thousand railway workers simultaneously got to work. When it is opened to traffic, the Guangtong-Dali Railway will become an important part of the China-Myanmar railway. It will serve as an important piece of Yunnan’s infrastructure. As the many railway projects in Yunnan continue to pick up speed, Dali will be linked with Kunming, Shangri-La, Lincang,Ruili and other cities to become the province’s second major railway hub.
