Recently, an invitational investment and exhibition for both the 5th China-South Asia Expo and the 25th China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair (hereinafter referred to as the China-South Asia Expo) for Yunnan-based enterprises and provincial state-owned enterprises was held in Kunming. Our reporters learned at the meeting that more than 80 countries and regions are expected to participate in the event in 2018.
This year’s China-South Asia Expo will be held from June 12 to 18 at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibition area is expected to reach 190,000 square metres. This space includes pavilions dedicated to tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, new materials, food and fashion, electrical and mechanical products, biopharmaceuticals and big health, cultural and creative products, wood art, and the opening ceremony. Other halls will be dedicated to the theme and the guest of honour countries, China as well as South and Southeast Asia, other overseas countries and regions, . Dozens of activities are set to be organized during the China-South Asia Expo, including the China-South Asia Business Forum, the China-Southeast Asia Business Forum, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and GMS Economic Corridor Week, the China-South and Southeast Asia Think Tank Forum, the China-South and Southeast Asia Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Conference, the Introduction of Projects in Southwest China for Chinese Entrepreneurs in ASEAN States, the Yunnan-Taiwan Rural Tourism Round Table and the China-South and Southeast Asia Art Week cum Lancang-Mekong Art Festival.
The China-South Asia Expo Executive Committee has advised that all exhibits should not infringe upon existing intellectual property rights, and that exhibitors must abide by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), Chinese patent, trademark, or copyright laws, or on any other IPR-related regulations. All exhibitors must also comply with the provisions of the relevant international intellectual property agreements to which China is a signatory. The exhibits must be transported to Kunming before May 30, 2018, and designated freight operators will handle commodities inspection, customs clearances and domestic transportation formalities in a unified manner.
