The central committee of ruling Awami League yesterday summoned lawmaker Shamim Osman and Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy over Tuesday's clash in Narayanganj that injured 50 people, reports UNB.
A central leader of Awami League confirmed the matter but declined to specify the exact time and place of the meeting, reports UNB correspondent.
At least 50 people, including seven policemen and five journalists, were injured in a clash when hawkers supported by local lawmaker Shamim Osman and his loyalists deterred Narayanganj City Corporation Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy's move to free illegally occupied roads and footpaths at Chashara intersection of the river town on Tuesday afternoon.
