Fake medicines seized in Ctg

The DB (Detective Branch) police of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) yesterday seized a huge amount of fake medicines and drug packaging materials from a house at the city’s Lalkhan Bazar area.

On information, a team of the DB police, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Palash Kanti Nath, raided a house owned by Taher in High Level Road area and arrested a man Saidul Islam, 38, from there, said a press release of CMP.

During primary interrogation, the arrestee confessed to the police that they were manufacturing fake medicines and packages of different brands and later sold those in different parts of the city.

The arrestee also informed the law enforcers that the fake medicines were being prescribed by a section of dishonest doctors through some diagnostic centres in the city.
