Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has taken initiative to activate 410 inactive buses in phases, reports BSS.
The Road Transport and Bridges Minister said this while replying to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker Nizam Uddin Hazari of Feni-2 at the house here.
Of these inactive buses, Quader said 30 Korean CNG buses to be activated with the financial assistance from Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of Korea.
Side by side, 162 buses to be activated under long term leasing system, adding that some buses to be activated with the own arrangement of the BRTC.
At present, BRTC has 1430 buses ----where some 935 buses are active and 410 are inactive.
