Stocks see up on large-cap vibe

Stocks saw upward trend yesterday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising trend with higher activities of some large-cap securities, reports BSS.
The rising major sectors were textile, bank and cement. A total of 191 large cap securities moved up on higher activities.
The broader DSEX index of the DSE closed the session with 70.95 points up at 6,128.81. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 13.52 points up at 1,389.91 and with 22.21 points up at 2,247.08.
The volume of shares increased to 11.34 crore from Mondays 9.89 crore shares. But the daily turnover in value at DSE declined to Tk 388.70 crore from Mondays Tk 406.14 crore.
At DSE, out of the days 334 traded issues, price of 241 securities closed higher against 50 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were DSSl, Mercantile Bank, Shahjalal Bank, Standard Bank and Meghna Cement. The major losing issues were Central Life Insurance, Zeal Bangla, karanphuli Insurance, USMANIAGL and East Land Insurance.
DSSL topped the turnover leaders followed by Square Pharma, City Bank, NBL and Shahjalal Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 158.17 points up at 18,885.40. At CSE, 229 issues were traded.
Of those, 157 closed higher
and 55 closed lower when 86.28 lakh shares worth Tk 28.56 crore changed hands.
