Woman found dead in C’nawabganj

Police recovered the burnt body of a housewife from Ramkistapur area under Chapainawabganj municipality yesterday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rashida Begum, 26, wife of Mizanur Rahman of the area.

Officer -in-charge (OC) of Chapainawabganj sadar police station Saber Reza Ahmed said being informed by the family sources of the victim, police recovered the body from the house of Mizanur around 8am and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

A UD case was recorded with the police station.

Rashida was burnt at night and after autopsy it could be ascertained whether it was suicide or murder, he added.

He further added that Rashida, daughter of Roisuddin of Amnura Kendul

village in sadar upazila was married to Mizanur 11 years ago and she was childless.

As Mizanur wanted to marry for the second time, there was a conflict between the husband and the wife, the OC said further.

Rashida’s sister Tanjila alleged that her sister was murdered. But no case was filed yet in this connection.
