‘Rag day celebration is a celebration of a leaving time, a happy ending of an unhappy moment.’ With this slogan, outgoing students of faculty of Law of Dhaka International University (DIU) recently celebrated the rag day at the Dr. M I Patwari auditorium of the university campus, says a press release.
Marking the end of their academic life, the students of 33/B Batch of Department of Law arranged this Rag Day. It was a day of thrill and great fiesta to everyone, especially for the outgoing students, which was inaugurated by the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees of the University Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary. The day formally began with the distribution of colourful t-shirts among the students. On this occasion the students of 33/B batch donated some watches to the department.
After that, a discussion was held in the university auditorium where Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary was chief guest while Assistant Professor & Coordinator of the department Raisul Islam Sourav presided over the ceremony. Among others, faculty members, guardians and guests enjoyed the event.
In his speech Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary said that the students of this department will establish themselves in their respective career and retain the goodwill of the university. “I believe the students of DIU have already achieved their reputation in legal arena,” he added. The rag day came to an end with a cultural function where students coming from different batches performed songs, dances and drama on stage.
