Clash kills 1, hurts 5 in Kutupalong camp

A Rohingya man was killed and five others were injured in a clash between two groups of the forcibly displaced Myanmar citizens at Kutupalong Rohingya Camp in Ukhia upazila yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Momtaz Miah, 35, son of Abul Kashem. Two groups of Rohingyas of Kutupalong Camp -- one led by Momtaz and the other headed by Arifullah Majhi -- had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy at the camp. In sequel to the enmity, followers of the two groups, led by their respective leaders, locked in a clash with sharp weapons around 12 noon, said officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station M Abul Khayer quoting witnesses.
