4.2 lakh yaba tablets recovered from Teknaf

Members of Coast Guard in a drive recovered 4.20 lakh pieces of yaba worth of Tk. 21 crore from an engine boat at Bay of Bengal in St. Martin of Teknaf yesterday, reports UNB. Tipped off, a team of coast guard conducted the drive in the Bay of Bengal and recovered the yaba tablets wrapped in polythene bags and seized the boat, said its Teknaf Station Commander Lt. Jafor Imam Sajib. None was arrested in this connection as the peddlers fled the scene leaving the boat behind after being chased by the law enforcers, he added.
