Three people were killed in three separate road accidents in sadar and Bhaluka upazilas of Mymensingh district yesterday morning.
A rickshaw puller was killed in a road accident in Shambhuganj Bridge area of Mymensingh sadar yesterday morning.
The deceased was Shaheen Mia, 30, of Madhabpur village in Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh.
A Mymensingh bound truck crashed his rickshaw around 11am, leaving him dead on the spot, said Polash, sub inspector of Kotwali police station.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy. Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
In Bhaluka, a motorcyclist was killed when he knocked a parked sand laden truck from behind due to dense fog at Mehrabai Taaltola on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 7am yesterday, said Abdus Salam, in-charge of Bhoraduba Highway Police Outpost in Bhaluka.
The deceased was Humayun Kabir, 30, hailing from Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh. The truck was parked as one of its wheels got punctured, said the in-charge.
A pick-up van passenger was also killed when the pick-up pushed a Dhaka bound vehicle from behind due to dense fog at Bhoraduba on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bhaluka around 4am, said the in-charge.
The victim was identified as Shahjahan Saju, 55, of Gouripur upazila in the district. He died on the spot.
