Burn victim dies at DMCH
A minor boy, who sustained burn injuries in a fire incident at Ekoria Tila Bari in South Keraniganj area of Dhaka district on Friday, died at the burn and plastic surgery nit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday morning.
The deceased was Abdul Gani, 5, a resident of the area.
Inspector Mojammel Hossain, in-charge of DMCH police camp, confirmed this.
Earlier, on early Friday, five members of his family, including Gani, sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at a house at Ekoria Tila Bari in South Keraniganj area of Dhaka district.
Hearing hue and cry, local people rushed in and rescued the victims. Later they were rushed to the burn unit of DMCH with severe burn injuries.
Muktijoddha complex to be built
NARAYANGANJ: A Muktijoddha complex would be constructed on 16 decimal of land on the bank of Shitalakkhya River near Narayanganj BIWTA Port Terminal for the welfare of local freedom fighters here.
The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioners office here. DC Anisur Rahman Miah presided over.
BKMEA president A.K.M Salim Osman, MP, commander of Narayanganj district unit command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Mohammad Ali, ADC (revenue) Siddiqur Rahman, Police Super Dr Khandakar Mohiduddin, NDC Abdulla Al-Zaki and former Narayanganj district Muktijoddha commander Samiullah Milon were present.
Youth arrested with phensidyl
RAJSHAHI: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a youth and seized 182 bottles of smuggled phensidyl from his possession from Basantapur Chowduary area in Godagari upazila of the district, RAB sources here said on Tuesday.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sohel Rana alias Pintu, 19. They also recovered 182 bottles of phensidyl syrup from his possession.
A case was filed with Godagari Police Station in this connection.
