Barendra Kumar Tripura dies

Veteran freedom fighter (FF) Barendra Kumar Tripura, father of Nabo Bikram Kishore Tripura, secretary of Ministry of CHT Affairs and Chairman of CHT Development Board, died of old-age complications at his Khagrachhari residence yesterday, reports BSS.
He was 96.
Barendra, who was an administrative officer of the south-east command of the Mujibnagar Government, died around 11.30 in the morning. His cremation will be held today, family sources said.
Prime Minister's Adviser HT Imam and Jahur Ahmed Chowdhury were commanders of the south-east command.
