At least four people, including a bus helper, were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Narayanganj and Sylhet yesterday and Tuesday, report agencies.
In Narayanganj, three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and ambulance in Adhuria area on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway of the district yesterday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sayed Mullah, 70, his son Nayon Mullah, 37, and ambulance helper Raja Hossain, 18. All of them are inhabitants of Brahmanbaria district.
Sub inspector of Kanchpur Highway Police Khairul Islam said the accident took place when a sand-laden truck collided head-on with an ambulance in the area at about 8.30am, leaving three dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition.
A bus helper was killed as the vehicle plunged into a roadside ditch at Rashidpur in Sylhet on Tuesday afternoon. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.
Witnesses said a bus of ‘Shohag Paribahan’ plunged into the ditch after a wheel was separated from the bus around 5pm, leaving its helper dead and some other passengers injured on the spot.
