Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said the government will take legal action against the private universities which have failed to fulfill their conditions to run the university under the rules of the Private University Act-2010, reports BSS.
Some of the private universities are yet to fulfill their conditions as per the Act and they have to face legal action after the scheduled timeframe," he told the 7th convocation of Daffodil International University(DIU) on its permanent campus in Dattapara area at Savar.
Speaking on the occasion Nahid said, “You (students) are the future of the country. So, you have to be good citizens through acquiring knowledge to boost development process for building a prosperous Bangladesh.”
Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Abdul Mannan, DIU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam and Chairman of DIU Trustee Board Sabur Khan, among others, addressed the convocation.
Nahid urged the authorities concerned to ensure congenial and good academic atmosphere at all educational institutions to make those free from all sorts of terror activities.
