Mad Theatre will stage the 38th show of their maiden play ‘Naddiyo Natim’ on the inaugural day of the three-day ‘International Bangla Literature Conference’ on the Bangla Academy premises in the capital on January 13. Directed by Asadul Islam, the play ‘Naddiyo Natim’ has been made based on the novel of Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Ke Kotha Koy’. Naddiyo Natim is a main character of this novel. Matin Uddin is an Uzbek poet. He reversed the spelling of his name – Naddiyo Natim. He got acquainted with Komal during his tuition. Meghdut plays the role of Komal. Muna is Komal’s mother, played by Subarna.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the conference as chief guest on January 13 at 3pm, while former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will grace the closing ceremony as chief guest on January 15.
Some 300 litterateurs will attend in the conference across the world while books translated in different languages and little magazines will be exhibited for sale on the academy premises. The conference will also feature six seminars, stage performance, musical event, film show, and storytelling and recitation events.
International Bangla Literature Conference Parishad, in association with Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahittya Sammylan and Friends of Bangladesh, has arranged the three-day ‘International Bangla Literature Conference’.
