The Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday seized 600 kilograms (kg) of banned polythene bags from a store in Riazuddin Bazar area of the city. On information, a team of DoE, led by its director Md Fokhor Uddin, along with police personnel of Kotwali police station conducted the drive at a store named ‘Rasel Store’ in the area and seized 600kg of banned polythene bags, said Sangjukta Das Gupta, assistant director of DoE. The store was producing polythene without any approval. The court also serve noticed to the store owner Md Rasel to present before the court on Tuesday.
