A total of 130 examiners, who check the answer script and evaluate those during the SSC examination under Barisal Education Board (BEB), were suspended recently for their negligence in the examination process. It is alleged that some SSC examinees applied for re-examining their answer sheets after the publication of results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in 2017.
Prof Anwarul Azim, controller of BEB in a letter issued on December 29, said 84 teachers were suspended for one year and 44 for two years as they found guilty in the re-examination process. Prof Azim said the examiners were asked to check the answer script properly. But they did not do this.
