AFP, SYDNEY: England captain Joe Root did not resume batting on the final day of the fifth Ashes Test against Australia Monday after needing hospital treatment for severe dehydration.
Root was sent for checks after experiencing diarrhoea and vomiting overnight after batting in extreme heat on Sunday's fourth day.
