Teenager gang raped, family confined for five days

Police have rescued a teenager and her family on Monday night from Virinda village in Palash of Narsingdi after getting information that the teenage girl was gang raped and her family members were kept confined since August 20.
A rape case has been filed by the victim with the Palash Police Station on Monday night accusing 8 people of rape and two UP members for helping the rapists. Police have also arrested two people over the incident. The victim was admitted to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
According to police, villagers and NGO Mothers Development Society (MDS), the victim (aged about 16) was returning home from her relatives house on August 20 when a group of 8 people abducted her and took her to an unknown place. The victim was gang raped there by the group and later left at a location in the village in an unconscious state.
After villagers found the unconscious girl, they took her to her parents.
As the news of rape spread in the village, Danga UP members Jalal Uddin and Iqbal Hossain, along with others locked up the rape victim and her family members in a house to prevent them from filing a case, said locals.
