Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist Tanim Khan who was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals on Sunday was buried in Osmaninagar upazila in Sylhet yesterday afternoon, reports UNB. Tanim was buried at Bhurunga Panchayet graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at Bhurunga Iqbal Ahmed School and College field around 4pm, said family sources. On Sunday night, Tanim Khan, an activist of Tilagarh unit BCL and son of Israil Khan of Bhurunga village in Osmaninagar upazila, was stabbed to death allegedly by rivals at Tilagarh of the city.
There was a longstanding dispute between two groups of BCL over establishing supremacy at nearby MC College. As a sequel of the enmity, rivals swooped on Tanim at Tilagarh Point around 9pm and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically wounded.
Locals rescued him and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
