BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia in a tweet message yesterday expressed her concern over the deterioration of law and order and an increase in the incidents of rape in the country last year. “Mohila Parishad says 1,251 women and kids were raped, 224 gang raped and 58 of them were killed after rape in 2017. I am speechless at such massive deterioration of law and order and heinous attack on women’s dignity,” she said in the tweet message.
The former prime minister also accused, what she described as an unelected government, of frequently trampling the rights of the common people.
