UNB

State-owned Power Develop-ment Board (PDB) has extended its deal with PowerPac Mutiara Keraniganj Power Plant Limited to purchase electricity from the plant for another five years, reports UNB. As per the power purchase agreement (PPA) signed on Monday at the PDB headquarters in the city, the state-owned organisation will buy electricity from the 100 MW PowerPac Keraniganj plant till March 26, 2022.

PowerPac Managing Director Ron Haque Sikder and PDB Secretary Mina Masuduzzaman signed the PPA on behalf of their respective sides. PwerPac CEO and Director Syed Kamrul Islam Mohon and other officials of the PDB were present on the occasion.

PowerPac, a concern of Sikder Group, has been supplying 100 MW electricity from its Keraniganj plant for the last six years. The plant was set up as a quick rental one under the present government's initiative to enhance electricity supply by installing power plants in the private sector.
