Seasoned actor-producer-director Masud Parvez (popularly known by his screen name Sohel Rana) is working under the direction of film heroine- turned -director Sarah Begum Kobori for the first time. Sohel Rana will be seen appearing as the husband of Kobori in a new drama serial titled ‘Abar Asibo Fire’, which has also been scripted and directed by Kobori. The shooting of the drama serial has begun from Saturday in a shooting house in the city’s Uttara area.
Kobori as an actress, is about one decade senior to Sohel Rana, who made her silver screen debut with Subash Dutta’s film ‘Sutorang’ in 1964. On the other hand, Sohel Rana started his journey as a producer in the film industry with the name Masud Parvez and he produced his first film ‘Ora Agaro Jon’ after the Liberation War. And he worked as an actor for the first time in the film titled ‘Masud Rana’, which was directed by him also. Interestingly, Kobori as an actor is senior than Sohel Rana, but considering the directorial careers, Sohel Rana is senior than Kobori.
Kobori said about working with Sohel Rana, “I have just once talked about the character with him before the shooting. But he came to the shooting with the portrayal of the character inside him. Now imagine how brilliant and dedicated he is as an artiste that he came to the shooting location after nourishing the character within him. He portrayed what I wanted from his character in front of the camera wonderfully.” “I am really amazed by his acting and cooperation and I am also grateful to him that he gave me due honour accepting me as a director”, Kobori added.
Sohel Rana shared the experience of working in the drama serial, “I never felt that I am working in any drama serial, because the entire shooting unit, including my co-artistes, my director, cameraman and makeup artistes, came from the film. For this reason, it didn’t make me feel for a single moment that I am working in any TV play. I was simply enjoying the direction of the heroine (Kobori) very attentively, how she controls the entire shooting unit. I am really fascinated!” Among others, popular actors Riaz and Ahona will be seen in the drama serial and it will start airing on Channel 9 very soon.
