Kanak Chapa’s ‘Kata Ghuri’ to be published at Boi Mela

Celebrated singer Kanak Chapa is going to present her fourth book titled ‘Kata Ghuri’, which will be published during the upcoming Amar Ekushey Boi Mela this year. Kanak Chapa’s new book is coming under the banner of Ananya Publications. Kanak Chapa has always been recognised as a melodious singer, but many don’t know about her other latent talents. Besides her entity as a singer, she also has a persona of a writer. She made her debut as a writer with the poetry book ‘Sthobir Jajabor’ published by Ananya Publications in 2010. Later on, the singer also came up with two other books titled ‘Mukhomukhi Joddha’ and ‘Megher Danay Chore’.

On a special request by Abida Nasrin Koli, Kanak Chapa was writing her reminisces for the last two years for a web portal ‘Praner Bangla’. Now, being inspired by Abida Nasrin Koli, she is compiling those writings and publishing it as a book this year.

Kanak Chapa said about the book, “Every person has a philosophy of his or her own to take life forward. My philosophy is my parents. They are the architects of my philosophy in life. Many moments spent with them have been portrayed in the book ‘Kata Ghuri’.”

When asked about the title of the book, she explained, “Human being cannot control time, it moves on its own. I have found similarities between time and kite. The thread of a kite is like a memory and with that thread, I keep searching for time; that’s why this book has been titled ‘Kata Ghuri’.”

Kanak chapa also thanked Abida Nasrin Koli for inspiring her.

To note, the singer is currently busy with her stage shows and recently has lent her voice to a song of the film. The singer’s last release single album was ‘Poddopukur’. Tuned and music arranged by Moinul Islam Khan, the album was released under the banner of Laser Vision. l
