A ten-day solo painting exhibition titled ‘Conversation with Soil’ by renowned artist Monsur Ul Karim is now underway at Gallery Chitrak in Dhanmondi of the capital. Presided over by architect and poet Rabiul Husain, eminent artist professor Rafiqun Nabi inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest on the gallery premises on Saturday, while art connoisseur Md Abdur Rahim (Feroz), Vice Chairman of DBL Group, was present as special guest.
This is the 25th solo painting exhibition of the artist Monsur Ul Karim. A number of 50 recent paintings of the artist is being showcased at the exhibition.
Monsur Ul Karim completed his bachelor's degree from Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka and masters' from the University of Chittagong. He has recently retired as a professor from the same university. He has held over fifteen solo exhibitions. The artist received the ‘Ekushey Padak’ in 2009 and many other prestigious awards in the country and abroad. He also received ‘Sultan Padak’ for his contributions to the Bangladesh’s art arena in 2014.
The exhibition remains open to all every day from 10am to 8pm until January 15.
