Rehabilitation bank cheques distributed

RAJSHAHI: Bangabandhu hi-tech park will play a vital role in infusing dynamism into the current economy of the region by creating new technology-based employment. The park will create new employment for more than 14,000 youths both male and female here, reports BSS.

Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority Hosney Ara Begum came up with the observation as the chief guest here yesterday afternoon. She was distributing rehabilitation bank cheques among 250 families from Tk 50,000 to Tk 70,000 each as compensation at conference hall of Deputy Commissioner.

A total of 672 families who were residing on the 31-acre park site will be given around Tk 3.74 crore in phases for their rehabilitation. Earlier, 85 families were given the compensation.

Director of Bangabandhu Hi-tech Park Project Fazlul Haque, Deputy Project Director Mahfuzul Kabir and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Shalahuddin also spoke.

Hosney Ara Begim said that the ICT division has been implementing the hi-tech park project on 31.63 acres of land at an estimated cost of around Tk 281.91 crore as the present government under the dynamic leadership Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much keen to implement the project for socio-economic development of the region.

She said the park will play a key role in building Digital Bangladesh, accelerating the national economic development by expanding hi-tech industries, establishing hardware and IT industries and creating a helpful condition to attract foreign companies.
