Poush mela begins in Barisal

A three-day Poush Mela, a traditional fair held at the end of the Bangla month of Poush, began in the city on Saturday evening with a festive mood on Barisal Saraswati Girls High School premises.  Barisal Rabindra Sangeet Sammelan Parishad, in association with other cultural organisations of the city, organised the fair.

SM Ruhul Amin, Police commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police inaugurated the fair. A discussion was also held on the occasion with Mukul Das in the chair. It was addressed among others by BEB chairman Prof Ziaul Haque, Badiur Rahman, Azmal Hosen Labu, Nazrul Islam Chunnu and others.
