Tarana joins Information Ministry

State Minister for Information Advocate Tarana Halim yesterday joined office, expressing her hope to work with utmost sincerity and honesty, reports BSS. “Time is limited but the challenges are many...I would like to work with utmost sincerity and honesty with Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu,” she told journalists after taking the charge in the morning. State Minister Tarana was transferred from Post and Telecommunications Ministry to Information Ministry when the cabinet was reshuffled on January 3. After she reached the Information Ministry yesterday, officials and employees welcomed Tarana with bouquets. Later, Tarana went to the office of Hasanul Haq Inu who welcomed her and gave a bouquet.

“I will work wherever the Prime Minister wants me to work,” Tarana said, adding “I worked at the post and telecommunications ministry for two years and four months.” Mentioning that the completion of the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 project as one of her successes at her former portfolio, Tarana said the much-awaited satellite will be launched between March 27 and 31. Acting Secretary of the ministry Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Chief Information Officer Kamrun Nahar and senior officials were present.
