The newly appointed state minister for education yesterday expressed his firm commitment to identify the persons involved in question paper leaks and ensure their punishment. “We have to take this matter seriously so that no question paper is leaked next time. The responsible persons have to be identified. Punishment has to be ensured for them so that no one can malign the image the government,” he said. The state minister, Kazi Keramat Ali, was speaking at a reception programme on the occasion of his joining the education ministry, held at the Paribahan Pool office in the capital.
Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid was also present on the occasion. Besides, senior officials of the Technical and Madrasa Division under the education ministry were also present to give a gala reception to the new minister with bouquets of flowers. The new state minister also talked about the digitalisation of Madrasa education. “We would try to digitalise the Madrasa education so that no-one can say that the Madrasa student adopts unfair means in the examination hall.
I have seen the Madrasa students are doing better.”
He also emphasised the need to start a subject on trade from Class IX on a priority basis in technical education so that the students do not remain unemployed.
Regarding the monthly pay order (MPO) facilities for the teachers of the non-government educational institutions, Keramat Ali said, “Non-MPO teachers would be given the facilities in phases. There are some realities as many of them are working without salaries.”
