‘Criminal’ found dead in Jessore

OUR CORRESPONDENT, Jessore

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a suspected criminal from a brick kiln at Saranpur in Monirampur upazila of Jessore district yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Raju Sarder, 35, of Krishnanagar village in Jhikargachha upazila of Jessore,

He was accused in 26 cases with Jhikargachha police station, said Abu Saleh Md Masud Karim, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Mokarram Hossain, officer in-charge of Monirampur Police Station said the body was recovered around 7:10am. He might have been killed in a gunfight between two rival groups of criminals, he added.

The body was sent to Jessore General Hospital for autopsy.
