6th session of ‘Raaga & Rhythm’ at Chhayanaut today

The musical event dedicated to Bari Siddiqui

The sixth session of the classical music concert titled ‘Raaga & Rhythm’ will be held today at 6:30pm at the main auditorium of Chhayanaut in the capital’s Dhanmondi area. To promote Indian classical music in Bangladesh, Peshkar Cultural Forum has organised the event for the sixth time. Dedicating to Ustad Bari Siddiqui, this session will feature both vocal and instrumental recitals.

Tamnia Islam will start with classical vocal recital, accompanied by Pandit Ashoke Paul on tabla and Bitu Shil on harmonium. After Tamnia’s vocal recital, Dolan Kanungo will present Mohan Veena recital, along with his accompanying tabla artiste Mir Naqibul Islam.

Besides, Indian sitar player Indro Roy Chowdhury will perform a sitar recital, while Pandit Ashoke Paul will accompany him on tabla.

Classical music enthusiasts can buy tickets at the venue before the show. Ticket costs BDT 200 per person and for student 100 taka. l
