DU Technology Unit admission test today

The first year honours admission test of academic session 2017-2018 under Technology Unit of Dhaka University (DU) Engineering and Technology Faculty will be held today.

The admission test will take place at 14 centers inside the DU campus from 10 am to 11.30 am, said a DU press release.

A total of 4,841 aspirants applied against 960 seats under the DU Technology Unit, the release added.

Detailed information related to the admission test is available on the university website http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd, it said.

Online form fill up for NU 4th year exams starts

The online form fill up for National University (NU) 4th year (BA/BSS / BBA/ BSc) examinations started on Wednesday and it will continue till January 23, 2018.

Relevant information regarding the form fill up is available on the university's website www.nubd.info/honours, said a press release.

Detailed information about exam routines and other matters will be published later on the website, the release added.

Prof Najimul made new registrar of IAU

Prof Dr Mohammad Najimul Hoque, a teacher of Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) of RajshahiUniversity (RU), has been appointed as registrar of Islamic Arabic University (IAU), a newly launched public university.

Dr Hoque joined as Lecturer at IBS under the RU in 2004 and became professor in 2016.

Earlier, he obtained his BA (Hons) and Master’s Degree with 1st class from the Department of Islamic History & Culture Department at the Rajshhai University.

Orientation programmes held at EWU

The orientation programmes of the newly admitted students for Spring Semester 2018 of East West University (EWU) were held on the campus at Aftabnagar in the capital yesterday, says a press release.

Nearly 1600 students have been admitted to graduate and undergraduate programmes in 14 different departments in this semester. Each department of EWU arranged individual programmes for their newly admitted students.

The objectives of the programmes were to welcome new students and introduce them to university facilities, faculty members, the academic system and the rules and regulations of the institution.

Those programmes were attended by Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of Board of Trustees (BoT), EWU and Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Prof MM Shahidul Hassan, Vice-Chancellor, Prof Fakrul Alam, Pro-Vice chancellor, A Z M Shafiqul Alam, Treasurer and the deans of the university.
