Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has yesterday started its six-day long 70th founding anniversary celebration by cutting cake and placing wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Dhanmondi 27 in the capital.
On the occasion, the BCL central committee members, led by its President Saifur Rahman Shohagh and General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain, placed wreaths at 7.30 am.
Later, different units of the organisations, including BCL Dhaka University unit, Dhaka city north and south units and Jagannath University unit, placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Earlier, the day's programmes began by hoisting national and party flags at the party office at 6.30 am.
Later, the BCL leaders cut cakes at Dhaka University Fazlul Haque Hall at 8 am where a number of leaders and activists were present.
