The government yesterday signed two separate letters of exchange with China for building a permanent exhibition centre at Purbachal and buying modern medical equipment and appliances, reports BSS.
Under one agreement, China will provide Tk 675.70 crore for building the "Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre" at Purbachal, a planned modern satellite town being developed on the outskirt of the capital city.
The project will cost Tk 796.01 crore and the government will arrange the rest Tk 120.31 crore from its own source. The exhibition centre, which will be built by 2018 on an area of 33,000 square meters.
