Strengthening Health Outcomes for Women and Children (SHOW), a project supported by Plan International, Bangladesh is rendering effective services to marginalised and vulnerable women including mothers, pregnant women and adolescent girls in the district.
With a view to focusing the activities served under the project to common people, a daylong workshop was held recently at the conference room of upazila nirbahi officer in Nilphamar. Many journalists from different newspapers attended the workshop.
Biploby Rani Dey Roy, communication specialist of Plan International, Bangladesh of Rangpur divisional office delivered the inaugural speech. She said the project has been working relentlessly since 2016.
At least 3,433 normal deliveries were conducted under the project while 43,582 mothers were provided with antenatal services, said speakers. Of the patients 1,129 were referred to higher centres where they received emergency delivery operation facilities free of cost. Besides, some 6,445 lactating mothers were provided with post natal services in the district.
