National Social Services Day observed in Pirojpur, Gaibandha

The National Social Services Day-2018 was observed in Pirojpur as elsewhere in the country yesterday with a call to provide state services to the doorsteps of the underprivileged people of the society. District Administration and District Social Service Office jointly chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day.
On the occasion a procession was brought out that paraded main streets of the town . marking the day from local central Shaheed Minar and it paraded the main roads of the town.
Later, a meeting was held at the District Arts Academy auditorium. The meeting was presided over by Al-Mamun Talukder, district Social Welfare Officer, Pirojpur.
Md Khairul Alam Sheikh, deputy commissioner of the district addressed the meeting as chief guest while Advocate MA Hakim Hawlader, General Secretary of Pirojpur District Awami League and Additional SP (Sadar Circle) Ahmad Mainul Hasan were present as special guests.
At the end of the meeting old-age allowance and widow allowance cards were distributed.

In the morning, a colourful rally led by deputy commissioner (DC) Gautam Chandra Pal was brought out from Independence Square and ended in front of Zila Shilpakala Academy (ZSA) after parading the main roads of the town.
Later, a discussion was held at the auditorium of ZSA with deputy director of Department of Social Services in the chair. DC Gautam Chandra Pal addressed the meeting as the chief guest and mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon,
