A Dhaka court yesterday framed charges against 30 leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies, including BNP education affairs secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon and Juba Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, in a violence case, reports UNB.
Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Haque framed charges against them, fixing November 5 for the start of formal trial with the deposition of witnesses.
The court also issued a warrant for the arrest of 23 accused, including Juba Dal General Secretary Saiful Alam Nirob, who are on the run.
The case was filed with Motijheel Police Station accusing the 30 BNP men for vandalising vehicles, assaulting police and preventing them from discharging their duties on December 18 in 2011.
On January 6, 2013, police submitted a charge sheet against the accused.
